Model United Nations

Model United Nations (Model UN) is a dynamic simulation of the United Nations, where students step into the role of country delegates to debate pressing global issues through the lens of international diplomacy. I began my Model UN journey in 7th grade, and it quickly became one of my greatest passions. Over the years, I earned the most awards in my middle school, including two gavels (Best Delegate), two Outstanding Delegate awards, two Honorable Mentions, and a Verbal Commendation. Beyond competition, I also served on the club’s leadership team in middle school, mentoring new delegates and helping organize our annual Model UN conference. These experiences deepened my understanding of global affairs and sharpened key skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and strategic thinking. Model UN has been an incredibly enriching part of my academic life, and I look forward to continuing this journey in high school and beyond, where I hope to further refine my abilities and engage in meaningful dialogue about the world’s most urgent challenges.

Technology Student Association

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national organization dedicated to advancing STEM education by providing students with hands-on learning experiences, competitive events, and leadership development opportunities. TSA encourages students to explore and engage with various fields of technology, engineering, and science, helping them to build critical skills and knowledge. I enjoy being a part of TSA because it allows me to apply what I learn in the classroom to real-world challenges, fostering creativity, innovation, and teamwork. Through TSA, I have participated in numerous competitions and projects that push me to think outside the box and develop practical solutions to complex problems. The organization’s emphasis on practical skills, coupled with its supportive and collaborative community, has significantly broadened my understanding of STEM. It has also fueled my passion for innovation and environmental sustainability, inspiring me to pursue a future where I can make meaningful contributions to these fields.

Traditional Armenian Dancing

Armenian folk dance has been a central part of my life since the age of four. From an early age, I was drawn to its energy, history, and cultural significance. Summers spent in Armenia allowed me to train with skilled instructors and perform in local recitals, deepening my connection to our traditions and giving me a firsthand appreciation for the beauty of Armenian cultural expression. Even though recent years have brought fewer trips to Armenia, my dedication to preserving and sharing our heritage has remained strong. I continue to perform in community events such as the Armenia exhibition at the Museum of the Bible, festivals at St. Mary Armenian Church, Girl Scout Thinking Day, and the Armenian Food Festival. These performances have given me the chance to celebrate my identity, connect with others, and share our traditions with a broader audience. Beyond formal events, I often perform for friends and family, keeping these traditions alive in everyday life. Dance has become more than just a passion, it’s a way for me to honor my roots and express pride in where I come from. It has also taught me valuable life skills such as discipline, resilience, and confidence. Each performance is a small act of cultural preservation and a reminder of the strength and beauty found in Armenian heritage. As I grow, I aim to carry these lessons into everything I do, hoping to inspire others to embrace their own cultural identities and contribute to a more inclusive, tradition-respecting world.
